Developed by Chief Instructor Jay Ackerman, Tactical Black is Arizona’s longest-running self-defense program. It is a comprehensive self-defense training system designed to empower individuals with practical skills and strategies to protect themselves and others in real-world situations.

At REACT Defense / Tactical Black, we believe everyone has the right to feel safe and confident in any environment. Our expert instructors work with students of all experience levels—from complete beginners to advanced practitioners—to develop essential skills such as situational awareness, threat recognition, third-party protection, and effective physical self-defense techniques.

Our training sessions are challenging, dynamic, and engaging while providing a safe and supportive environment in which students can learn and practice. Our program emphasizes practical techniques that are easy to understand and apply in real-world situations, giving students the confidence and knowledge needed to protect themselves and their loved ones.

The Active Shooter Seminar will be held on November 6, 2026, from 5:30 PM–8:30 PM at the Phoenix location:

Please arrive 20 minutes early to complete our health-history form and waiver. Participants must bring a valid Arizona driver’s license and be at least 18 years old.

Exercise clothing, athletic shoes, and water are required to participate.

This payment for training is NONREFUNDABLE.

ABSOLUTELY NO martial-arts instructors, school owners, or trainers are permitted. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

After presenting proper identification, participants will be asked to secure all cell phones, bags, purses, and other personal belongings inside their vehicles.
